On Sunday I visited the Tweed River Gallery in Murwillumbah with an artist friend. We were looking for inspiration. It was a dull rainy day, unusual for this area (I am ‘up North’ right now). This is a stunning gallery showcasing an incredible range of talent. One artist was exhibiting beautiful subtle etchings/aqua tints and his work really got me. I have always wanted to learn etching. I only took a few photographs, and this is my favourite. The day reminded me how much I love gentle subtle tones and form.

  1. I love your photos, Kirsty, and I’m delighted to see that you’re following your heart.

    xo

  2. This photo reminds me of those days when I feel hugged between sky and land. I guess that is why I can survive those gray days of winter, here, not minding the days that are minus the sun. Big sky! Love it!

    • what a beautiful description Leslie. And yes, the big skies are one of the things I love about Australia. Now that you mention it I see how this photo celebrates them 🙂

  3. I don’t know about the others you took this day, Kirsty, but this is definitely MY favorite! Of course, the fence leading the eye in is what makes this one so special. Well composed, my friend.

  4. Sorry, the first part of my sentence was cut off for some reason. It should read “I don’t know what other photos you took this day, Kirsty,”

  5. Hi Kirsty. Great photo. Seems you found some inspiration.

  6. Sweet. It’s funny, some of my favorite photos of my own were taken on days when I took only a couple of pictures and moved on.

  7. I love the seamlessness of the layers, and I envy yr North coast time!

  8. I really like the perspective of this photo – and the tones! I wouldn’t mind seeing just whats over that hill:)

    • thanks Lynda. Funny you should say that because just over my metaphorical hill is a new blogging direction for me. The muse is calling and I am brewing new ideas right now. Watch this space 🙂

  9. I have been clicking over wondering where you be and read your response to Lynda, above. Now, I can hardly wait to see what you are doing! 🙂
